Solar Electric Questions and Answers
Q. What is involved in a typical solar panel installation?
A: Check out photos of the New England Breeze team in action on a typical roof mounted solar power system.
Solar Water Heating Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is solar "domestic" water heating?
A: We specialize in domestic water heating - solar hot water installations for laundry, bathing and dishes. There are other solar hot water systems that tie in with your heating system to provide space heating, however, at this time we install only domestic solar hot water systems. These systems require fewer solar collectors, a lower upfront investment and can provide 50-75% of your total hot water usage.
Commercial Solar FAQ
Q: What makes solar power attractive for business owners?
A: Solar electric systems are eligible for the five (5) year Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS). System life is typically much greater than 25 years. This accelerated depreciation on a long life system dramatically increases the after-tax financial return of the project. With SRECs trading at $0.25-$0.50 per kWh, larger systems are paying for themselves in less than 5 years.
