Southwest
Windpower's Skystream 3.7 has some unique features that help
it break some key price/performance barriers.
For example, This system is a fully integrated wind turbine and
inverter. This greatly reduces the system cost because AC power comes
right down the tower - no extra boxes to buy.

This

approximately 25 feet from the turbine. The slight "clicking" noise is
all you hear. If you listen carefully, you can hear a bird chirping.
The cables wrapping around the tower are for extra sensors and are not
used in a normal installation.
Cost and Payback:

installations will range from $11,000 to $15,000 and may
be eligible for
$5,050 in rebates or tax credits.

credits, with an average wind speed of 11 mph (wind speeds at turbine
height typically far exceed wind speeds at ground level), you can
expect payback in just under nine (9) years.
